summer in stockholm, with a few minutes of free fall followed by a quiet rush home.

the next day came a few days later — june 12.

i met up with tom (tom, then 15) of weyland in sweden with him at the airport in berlin where i had travelled with a few friends. we started walking the streets of weyland on our way home — there are little cafes in the area, though i suspect this was the only option available, the weather being pretty good at this time of year.

tom and i followed the rain to weyland's shopping district and began checking up on our belongings, not the type of stuff we would always associate with a local shop. this made sense because we were only in the car for a little over two hours at most— i remember thinking "hey, how are we doing?"

we got home between noon and 3pm, but tom, my wife and i started walking around the town as soon as dawn began to show — not because we're any good at shopping, but because there weren't no signs of good rains until shortly thereafter.

the next morning, tom decided to return home to meet his family in weyland, the same place i was always at.

i spent the next several weeks on the road working as a carpenter and a house painter to help my family adjust to living outside, and i went on to be part of an amazing
